A warm welcome awaits all our visitors at Moor Lodge Country Retreat. We are situated amongst spectacular scenery in the heart of the Peninne Moors and right on the Yorkshire/Lancashire border. A haven for groups, families and friends. All our apartments are designed and furnished to the highest standards, have stunning views, open plan living, en-suite & bathroom facilities and fully equipped kitchens. A relaxing base in the heart of the country.

For those who prefer not to cook, we have an on-site eatery with a delicious menu. The apartments range from 1-4 bedrooms and so are ideal for friends to enjoy relaxing evenings together.

Bed linen is provided along with flat screen TVs with freeview.

What does the area have to offer?

The Haworth area (close to Moorlodge Country Retreat) is steeped in history, and is of great literary interest with its Bronte connections. The village of Haworth has been made famous for its role as home of the Bronte Sisters who wrote the famous 'Wuthering Heights' and ' Jane Eyre' and lived at the 'Haworth Parsonage' - this is well worth a visit. It has for years attracted visitors from all over the world.

Close by too is the lovely hamlet of Wycoller with its famous pack horse bridge, museum and beautiful country rambles. If trains are your thing then The Worth Valley Railway, from Oxenhope, Haworth, Oakworth and Keighley, is busy all year round with themed rides and entertainment.

The village of Saltaire, famous for its mills converted into retail shopping outlets is not too far away and houses the fantastic David Hockney gallery.

The buzzing market town of Skipton - gateway to the dales is just a short drive away and offers a wide array of amenities from cafes, delicatessen, gift shops, acient inns and wonderfully preserved Norman Castle, claimed to be one of the most well preserved medieval castles in England.

East Riddleston Hall is not to be missed for its beautiful gardens, tearooms, herb borders and recently opened riverside walks along the banks of the River Aire.

Anybody interested in cycling may wish to tackle The Yorkshire Dales Cycle Way, a 130 mile circular route which starts and ends in Skipton. However, this may require a little more than a leisurely afternoon to complete!

If a days shopping is something you enjoy then you will be blown away by Boundary Mill, Colne just 5 miles away. You could easily spend a day browsing the fashion aisles, home section, M&S seconds and many more tempting shopping treats.

There is sailing, pony trekking, a walk along the famous Pennine Way - a million and one things to do and see in this wonderful enviroment.

However you choose to spend your holiday, there will always be plenty in the area to keep you entertained. There are many more places and attractions for you to discover for yourself.
