A visit to Yorkshire is not complete without a visit to the Dales. Malham is a small village, in the Pennines at the Southern base of the Yorkshire Dales. It is surrounded by limestone walls and rolling hills a must for any keen walkers. Malham Cove is a huge cliff formation of limestone rock 260 feet high. Formed in the ice age the top is a large limestone pavement and has fabulous views of the surrounding countryside. Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows was filmed all around Malhamdale including Malham Tarn, a large spring fed lake and Gordale Scar a spectacular gorge, with a waterfall that cuts straight through the hillside. The village as some great pubs serving traditional yorkshire fayre and it’s only a 40 minute drive from Moorlodge.
